2. Run SFC and CHKDSK

Step 1: Click on Windows Key + X button together simultaneously. Now click on Command Prompt (Admin).

Step 2: Now type in the cmd Sfc /scannow. Then hit Enter.

Step 4: For CHKDSK scan, in step 2, type CHKDSK /f /r and hit enter.

3. Kill All Nvidia Processes And Delete The Related Files

Step 1: Go to Task Manager and in the Processes tab, end-all NVIDIA tasks.

Step 2: If exited, delete the following NVIDIA files.

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvdsp.inf file

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_lh file

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvoclock file

C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\

C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\

Step 3: Now, after deleting the files, restart your device and try installing the drivers.

4. Rollback Nvidia Drivers

Rollback your Nvidia drivers to fix the Nvidia installation error message. To rollback the Nvidia Drivers, follow the below step by step procedure.

Step 1: Go to Device Manager and expand Display adapters. Right-click on your NVIDIA graphic card and select Properties.

Step 2: Now, click Roll Back Driver in the Driver tab.

Step 2:  Reboot your PC to save changes. Check whether the error still persists.

5. Use Display Driver Uninstaller

If your Windows device already contains the Nvidia drivers with your acknowledgement, then the Nvidia fails to install. The Nvidia installation failed error will pop up. So, in order to delete the already existed Nvidia drivers, use DDU ( Display Driver Uninstaller).  Follow the below steps.

Step 1: Use Display Driver Uninstaller to delete all the available Nvidia drivers.

Step 2: Now, freshly install the required Nvidia driver.

6. Turn Off Your Antivirus And Firewall

Some antivirus software will interfere by blocking files while you try to install Nvidia drivers. So, when your Nvidia installation fails, try turning off the Antivirus and firewall. Then try installing the Nvidia drivers. Also kill all the related antivirus files. To do that, you need to follow the steps given below.

Step 1: Press the combination keys Ctrl+Alt+Delete simultaneously. NowClick on the Task Manager.

Step 2: Go to the Processes tab and Look for any processes related to antivirus and kill each of them. To do that, Click on each process and select End Task.

Step 3: Restart your device and try installing the Nvidia drivers again.

7. Reinstall the Operating System

The final solution you can try when you failed in all the above-mentioned methods is reinstalling the Operating system. But, before reinstalling backup all the important files and documents as windows will delete all the files and documents that are present in the device while reinstalling. After reinstalling the operating system, try installing the Nvidia driver again.
